You Can Get Better Than a Kwik Fit Fitter!!

Whenever purchasing a new or used car, we are always told to ensure that the car has full service history, even better if that service history is from the main dealer.
Since Kevin Dart of AKD Auto Services joined the chapter our views have been altered for the better. With 26 years experience in the trade, most recently for Mercedes Benz, his knowledge of what is best for the car and our pockets cannot be questioned.
Yes the average car salesman will still give you less for your part exchange because it hasn’t always been serviced by the main dealer, but the pro’s and con’s of selling privately we’ll leave for another day.
One such example was when a Ferndown gentleman took his “54” plated, Toyota Avensis diesel estate which had covered only average mileage into a Bournemouth Kwik Fit branch for it’s second annual M.O.T.
Unbeknown to Kwik Fit the gentleman had worked on cars for most of his working life prior to retirement. He had kept the vehicle well maintained, ensuring the usual failure items such as tyres, brakes, bulbs, windscreen wipers, exhaust, bushes and boots were all OK and should pose the tester with no reason to fail the car.
Imagine the gentleman’s surprise when the car failed the M.O.T. due to “excessive brake judder”. The gentleman appealed the decision through VOSA and made an appointment with Kevin at AKD Auto Services.
The car passed with flying colours and the 
gentleman received a full braking diagnostics report showing no issues. VOSA later informed the gentleman that the Kwik Fit branch brake testing equipment was faulty and that their M.O.T. centre had been temporarily closed!!
